TYPES OF CONDOMS

Male condoms are intended to stop a man's semen from coming into contact with his partner. When condoms are used correctly during intercourse they help to safeguard against pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections (STIs).When used correctly during oral sex they help to protect against STIs. Condoms are the only contraception that protect against pregnancy and STIs. Male condoms has the highest percentage for avoiding unwanted pregnancy. 

The condom is made of natural rubber latex, which completely covers the penis with a closely fitted cylindrical membrane and it includes a reservoir. The surface of the condom is plain or dotted, transparent or coloured and may or may not be lubricated with silicone oil. 

All the different types of condoms are manufactured using the same raw materials including lubricants, however, colours, flavours, foil and packing material are used as per customers requirements. All the different types of condoms are tested using the same test equipment and test methods depending upon the applicable International Standard. To monitor the product characteristics various tests are conducted on the finished Product. 

The device is well established and there are several published International and National Standards such as EN 4074:2002, ISO 4074:2002 and WHO 2003 Specifications and Schedule  of The Indian Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940. We at Shaisha Prophylactic Pvt Ltd manufacture the device according to these standards, as per the customer�s requirements. These standards and specifications provide details about the properties of the device such as Dimensions, Burst Properties, Tensile Properties, Freedom from Holes and Lubricant Quantity, Labelling and Packaging Specifications and guidelines. In addition to the specifications, these standards also provide inspection level for sampling and AQL for each property individually. The sampling plans adopted by most of the standards are based on ISO 2859. 

The Raw Materials used in the manufacture of the device are Natural rubber Latex, Vulcanizing Agent, Accelerators, Dressing Materials, Lubricant, and several other chemical additives
